Games
Come in. Pull up a chair.
Them days you sent a youngster up the road to say there was a game on. Now you send the code, and if a chair's still empty when you deal, one of the regulars takes it.

Down the road
Well, Sunday after Mass we'd walk it. Start at the gate and go down, and every house along here I'll tell you who's in it.
The 1929 Burin Peninsula Tsunami
An earthquake under the Grand Banks sent the sea walking ashore on the Burin.
On 18 November 1929 a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the Grand Banks south of Newfoundland, triggering a submarine landslide that severed transatlantic telegraph cables and generated a tsunami. Waves up to roughly 13 m struck the south coast of the Burin Peninsula about two and a half hours later, destroying homes, stages and vessels; 28 people lost their lives, making it Canada's deadliest tsunami. Natural Resources Canada and the US NCEI document the event in detail.
